  4. Take the board out, use a solder sucker to get all the solder off the leads and just pull it out. Then put your new cap in, solder the leads and your good to go. When you put the new cap in you need to make sure you put it in the right way. Im not going to go into it any more lol or i will be tipeing for days.

  7. Yes from the states, this is a common problem with these units. I believe it's the poor quality Chinese caps, possibly under rated values on the voltage. As for protection, you can't see in the vid. but i am wearing a condom! LL

oh boy....you must come from the states...yes you repaired you screen...but you were very lucky....a towel is not the greatest way to dissipate static...plus I didn't see you wearing any anti-static protection... no wonder we buy our electronics from Japan...LOLLL

  14. I wanted to ask, I have a problem with p42 vizio hdtv picture because I do not give me sound but appreciate it for their valuable help.

  15. The short answer... no. Make sure it's not plugged in and to be safe take an insulated wide bladed screw driver or somthing similar and short between the cap terminals to discharge(prob. not charged but saftey first). Then unsoldier cap. take note which lead is which NEG. is usually marked on the outside of the cap.
Here is one of many places that sell that cap.

    Hope this helps.

  20. No power at all is not that common, being that you suffered an outage it probably suffered a voltage spike. I would start with the point at wich power is supplied to the board. i dont remember if this model has a board mounted fuse but check that as well as rectifier diods, exsessive forward bias voltage can kill diods.
    Hope this helps.

  21. i have the same make model of this tv that i have had to do this repair on 3 different occasions. this being said, our power recently went out and the tv no longer even has the l.e.d. come on for standby mode and i am not sure why there is no power at all. how do i go about fixing this , is it a common problem?

    ReplyDelete
  22. I would check the whole thing for any browning on the power board. Let alone maybe the fuse yes and the capacitors.

  23. I believe this model has a diagnostic blink code function via the power led. plug in set to wall outlet (not a power strip) manually press the power button and count the number of times the power Led blinks in series, the cycle will repeat. Somtimes there will be more than one code (ex: 5 blinks pause then 7 blinks pause and repeat). This may occure as soon as you plug in the set.
If there is no Led or signs of power, i would check the main power board for a blown fuse.
