  2. I looked it up, for my a 42 inch plasma it's only about $10 more a year. The website tested different HDTVs, running them 8 hours a day for a year.

  3. I've noticed a lot of jealous people repeatedly speak of this to try and Justify why their limited LCD is better. My parent's Panasonic Viera has a 20 year life expectancy...

  8. What the fuck at you can't watch an lcd in the daylight lol.... That's like the only reason ever to buy a lcd.he got it confused plasmas would look horrible outside lcd would still look ok but in a dark room plasmas always kill lcd for picture which is the way to watch a movie imo

  9. how close do these guys sit next to their screens? I'm at least 3 feet away from mine! Are they like right next to it or something?

  10. i don't wanna hear all that; hit a beam, sparks and shit....just say LCD or PLASMA is better and am on to the next YouTube video.

  11. And brightness? Once again, no. LCDs are much brighter and better in daylight. Plus they are usually more anti-reflective. Everything else is correct, but jeez, why pretend to know the other stuff?

  12. Who is this guy? No. Plasma "pixels" are not like CRTs, each pixel is a plasma bulb. Think of the screen as a million tiny light bulbs. The pixels are "fixed," just like LCD pixels; whether displaying 720p or 1080p content, a 1080p plasma will ALWAYS display at 1080p, it just has to scale the image to fit the screen.

  16. The weight, the burning pixels, the bad gaming experience... none of this issues are a factor anymore.
I bought my plasma last winter by reading Consumer Report's opinion and i don't regret it.

After a time they get dead pixels, or stuck pixels, either can suck.

Pixel shift helps, but only on micro objects. It is a lot better, but still not perfect, and when the pixel shift really starts to kick in it presents as "static" in the image, which is kind of annoying.

Depends on viewing distance, and lighting, and a lot of things, but more times than not, 12 hours a day with LCD will be easier on your eyes.
