buying sony is buying only the name any quality, and buying samsung is buying pure korean-chinese garbage like lg. I think toshiba is a very reliable brand and better than samsung and sony
Blu-ray displays true 1080p with 1080 lines of resolution. Upscalers try to artificially reconstruct picture information to make the picture 1080p Unfortunately, they end up creating numerous artifacts and still can't come close to the level of detail blu-ray gives. I hope that helps a little bit. Upscaling is really not all that it is cracked up to be.
I just did some research on this and I read that my TV has to be 120Hz for it to be able to play 24fps. The Toshiba TV that I bought is only 60Hz. I guess I'll be returning this.
Hey, nice unboxing video! Our family just purchased a 65 in. Samsung HD TV with a Sony Blue Ray Player. Im looking foward to have a theater system with my Apple TV and Bose 7.1 Channel Surround System. But unfortunately, I have to wait for the new on the wall stand and some other furniture.
Ya Sony Bravias are some of the best TV's I've seen. The quality is superb. Circuit City once had Transporter playing on a 52" Bravia with the 24fps effect turned on the blu-ray player and it was just amazing. But those tv's will easily cost up to $4,000. My new tv actually produces smoother(less grainy) picture when used with component cables...the HDMI brings out the worst grains in some scenes.
Hey do you know about the 24fps effect that some blu-ray players have? Will that also require a certain brand or type of TV to work...like does the TV have to be a plasma? Because the blu-ray player that I have, the samsung P1500 has 24fps but when I turn it on, the screen goes blank and then the blu-ray player resets the 24fps back to OFF. So is it because of the TV?
i work at best buy and u should have gone with samsung or sony. stay away from toshiba. trust me i work home theater and you can get way better deals. i have actually had people return that specific tv bc quality was not all there. email me with any questions u know im an avid watcher.
That looks nice! I have a 32" sony bravia 720p. I must say that the quality on the non hd side is what i bought the Sony brand for. The Bravia engine really makes the Non hd look better on a hd tv. I have a Panasonic dvd player with upscaling to hd via HDMI. My tv does a better job via the SCART than the dvd player does via the HDMI. I dont have bluray, (as i have been told that i wont last and right now im happy with the dvd quality from my tv) but I do have an xbox 360 and that is good on it.
