This is part 2 of a video HOWTO on repairing common power-up failure on Samsung 52 flat screen flat panel LCD television. These videos demonstrate how to remove the back panel of display, remove the power supply board, and replace a faulty power supply electrolytic capacitors using a soldering iron.

    Great help mate. I have a similar clicking problem, but my TV could still turn on and stay on. I'll change those capacitors this week.

    Tonight while we were watching TV it shut off completely but the little red light came on. It blinked every now and then. I opened up my Samsung LN-26A450 26 inch TV and all of the capacitors look fine. None of them are bulging out of the top but there are some that have a blue ink type substance on them. Do you think this could be the start of them bursting?

    Does this type of TV store large voltages (like CRT's), and you didn't indicate how (long) you avoided the "Hot" section of the board for it to discharge ???

    Samsung should be horse whipped in the town square for this "planned" capacitor failure right after warranty.
    What they didn't count on was people like you that would show us how to fix it.

    @Krazy--- if they are only replacing your power supply your settings for your custom picture are stored in the EPROMs in the digital board so you should be able to retain all of your settings provided that your servicer does not manually reset your settings in the menu after he has repaired or replaced the power supply. The power supply has no memory, so no worries. If your unit is under warranty, it is best to let the deal with this repair. Removing the cover to make ANY REPAIRS while under

    does anyone know if this would delete your custom tv settings?.. video/audio/channels etc..
    i have the same issues, but am still under guarantee.. so if the company exchanges the entire board, instead of a fix like this.. it would surely wipe all settings right?..

    Awesome tutorial. Gave me the confidence to do this job myself, and saved me a bunch of money. I was nervous at first. But once I got the first cap replaced, it was cake doing the rest of them. We said the same thing when the TV started right up... "Yayyyyy!!"

    Thanks for the video. I replaced 6 capacitors on my 50 inch LG plasma TV because it took several tries to turn on. It works perfect now. Thanks for saving me some money!

    Thank you very much; This video helped me to replace two capacitors in my Samsung 40" LCD TV. I seriously doubted it would work since I have no experience with soldering but even though I skimped on the flux as well as the alcohol, and even though the replacement capacitors was a lot bigger than the old ones, the tv turns on right away now. Awesome!

    Most of the power supply design is same.I was changed the 6 bad caps alr but still remain as before changing!
