    yes like Hunger Games. Divergent, Matched, etc? They're all talked about being alike [and i do like them all] and really the only thing they have in common really is that they're dystopian. Really, if you'd compare The Selection to anything you'd compare it to Matched more than The Hunger Games in my opinion. But overall, books shouldn't be compared to any other book because they're all different in their own ways.

    No, I wouldn't watch it for the same reason I won't read the book; the author and her agent acted rather like children, getting upset over a negative review from a somewhat-popular online reviewer. They apologized since for being so unprofessional, but I still take no interest in the book. Besides, dystopia is getting rather tiring, as there are only so many plots to be done (and most of them have been).
